It is popular to float from Colorado, through Northgate Canyon and takeout at Sixmile Gap in Wyoming. The North Platte in Colorado is designated as Gold Medal and Wild Trout water. The limit is two trout over 16 inches.
From Cowdrey north on State Highway 125 8 miles to Forest Road 939, east about one-half mile to the launch site.
Open canoes are prohibited between the Routt launch site and Six Mile Gap; flotation is required
