The Flat Tops Wilderness Area is the second largest in Colorado. It covers more than 250 square miles. The wilderness is accessed by many miles of trails. Compared to other wilderness areas in the state, the Flat Tops W A offers easy hiking. Only a few trails challenge the hiker with a steep climb. On reaching the plateau many trails are nearly level.
